The Escalator
The Escalator is a system that never shuts off. Built on a steady motorik pulse and anchored by a vintage organ drone, it climbs without arrival – each loop carrying you a little further from the ground floor, a little further from anything heavy. The rhythm is constant, almost comforting, while everything around it slowly tilts into something stranger.
Vibraphone notes flicker like reflections in polished glass. Layered vocals drift in tight unison, as if carried by the machinery itself. The track plays with the illusion of endless ascent – playful at first, then quietly unsettling. Clean. Artificial. Bright. And just a little detached from reality.
Level ten is cumulus. Level twelve is stars. Somewhere past the mezzanine, gravity becomes optional. The groove never explodes or collapses. It just keeps going up.
