I built Cymatics Fractal Lab because I wanted to own the whole pipeline — from the first pixel to the final frame.
What it is
Cymatics Fractal Lab is a real-time, audio-reactive fractal engine. It renders living Julia and Mandelbrot geometry — spirals, jeweled filigree, plasma, and glow — and lets sound drive it directly. The music doesn’t sit behind the visuals; it shapes them, frame by frame. Bass, mids, highs, and the beat itself move the zoom, the morphing, the rotation, the color.
It runs as a native desktop application and renders finished video in true 4K at full quality.
How it was built
From the ground up. The look is powered by custom GPU shaders I designed — not filters, not presets, not stock loops bolted onto someone else’s engine. The audio reactivity is my own signal analysis feeding my own visual system. The export path renders every frame offline and encodes it in a single clean pass, so the output is broadcast-grade with no compression artifacts.
Every part — the engine, the styles, the interface, the render pipeline, the name — was made deliberately, by me.
Why
Most “music visualizers” are templates. You feed them a track and get back the same motion everyone else gets. I wanted the opposite: an instrument, not a filter. Something where the visual is a genuine performance of that piece of music, and where the entire chain — sound in, geometry out, mastered video on disk — belongs to the person who made it.
Owning the tool means owning the result. Nothing about my work is borrowed, licensed-in, or dependent on a service that can change the rules on me tomorrow.
