Static Witness

Static Witness is a slow, uneasy art rock piece built around a slightly detuned upright piano and a dry, unpolished rhythm section. It moves with restraint, letting tension build in the spaces between notes rather than through volume or speed.

The piano feels imperfect on purpose. The drums stay flat and close. The bass carries a quiet melodic weight underneath it all. Tape delay and low mechanical hum gradually seep in, giving the song a sense of quiet surveillance. By the end, structure dissolves into noise and feedback, like a system overheating after too much observation. It doesn’t explode. It erodes.
